About SafeHands PC Clinic

SafeHands PC Clinic is an independent repair business run by Terence Marshall. We help people understand computer problems, consider their options and agree a repair before work begins. Our local service covers Leeds and nearby West Yorkshire; customers elsewhere in the UK can enquire about courier-in computer repairs by prior arrangement.

A device can be essential for work, study, keeping in touch or managing everyday life. We aim to make the next step clear: what needs investigating, what it will cost and what choices you have. You do not need to know the technical name for a fault to ask for help.

What we assess and repair

Our computer work includes desktop and laptop faults, Windows and software problems, malware cleanup, memory and storage upgrades, new-PC setup and custom PC builds. We also consider data-recovery attempts and mobile phone or tablet problems where the model, fault and available parts make the work feasible.

We confirm suitability before you send or bring a device. Some faults require specialist equipment or a different provider. We will explain when a job falls outside our service rather than promise a result we cannot deliver. Data recovery and repair outcomes cannot be guaranteed before assessment.

How your job is handled

  1. Enquire first. Send the make and model, the symptoms, your postcode area and your preferred support option. Please do not send passwords or payment details in the enquiry.
  2. Agree the assessment. The initial PC diagnostic costs £14.95 and is payable even if you do not proceed with a repair. Mobile assessments and any additional investigation are priced and agreed separately before starting.
  3. Review the findings and quote. We explain the proposed repair and any parts, travel or courier charges. Repair work and component purchases require your approval.
  4. Agree the handoff and next steps. Timing depends on the fault, assessment and parts availability. We discuss the arrangements directly rather than promise the same turnaround for every device.

Choose the support that fits the fault

Local customers can enquire about home visits, remote support, collection or an arranged drop-off. A remote session is suitable only where the device, connection and fault allow it. UK-wide courier work must be booked before dispatch so we can agree transport, packing requirements and delivery charges. We do not publish a walk-in address: contact us to arrange the appropriate handoff.

Cost matters, and so do your circumstances

Tell us your budget and what you need the device to do. We can discuss suitable options and explain the difference between a necessary repair and an optional upgrade. Reduced-cost options for people on low incomes are considered on request, depending on the work and availability. No repair begins simply because you submitted a form.

For a like-for-like written repair quote, ask about our price promise before booking. The work, parts and scope must be comparable. See the current starting prices and ask us to confirm the total for your job.

Your files and privacy

Keep a current backup where possible and tell us if important files are not backed up. A repair enquiry should contain only information relevant to the job. If access credentials are necessary later, we will agree how to handle them directly. Do not put passwords or recovery keys in a public message or upload unrelated documents.

Our optional PC Check tool and report form help you describe symptoms before assessment. The report is sent only if you choose to attach it. It is an information-gathering aid, not a substitute for diagnosis. The repair advice guide explains safe observations you can make and when to stop using a device.
